Speaker Bio

Dave Mathews brings over 30 years of insurance placement and risk management experience to his clients. As a partner of Sterling Seacrest Pritchard, Dave is committed to building an organization that enhances the community that it serves.

Dave currently works with nonprofit organizations in many fields, including social services, foundations, educational institutions, and national and international associations. He helps nonprofits understand their unique risks and designs safety practices to meet their needs. He partners with insurance carriers that understand the unique demands of nonprofits and designs tailored coverage, policy language, retention analysis, and cost reduction strategies.

He is currently a member of Zoo Atlanta Leadership Counsel, Camp Twin Lakes Risk Committee, and Cowart Family YMCA Board Chair. Dave is Co-Founder of the Annual Nonprofit Leadership Conference (est. 2011) and a member of the Leadership Atlanta class of 2017. He also started the Camp Leadership Roundtable in 2017 as a forum for the leading local camps to discuss safety, risk, and operational issues.

In addition to nonprofits, he designs Risk Management and Insurance Programs for public and private corporations in the manufacturing, distribution, retail, and real estate industries. Dave insures the legal professional liability of many law firms and consults with companies using captives and self-insurance as risk financing methods.

Dave earned his Bachelor of Science from Miami University in 1990 and his professional designations include Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Accredited Advisor in Insurance (AAI), and Associate in Risk Management (ARM).
